What affiliate networks does it detect?
Regional Amazon TLDs (.com, .co.uk, .ca, .de, .fr, .it, .es, .co.jp, and more), ShareASale, Commission Junction, Impact, Rakuten, ClickBank, Skimlinks, plus major commerce retailers like eBay, Walmart, Target, and Best Buy. The URL pattern matcher also catches affiliate links on regular domains via `?tag=`, `/dp/`, and similar.
Does it detect broken links?
It detects malformed URLs (links that fail URL parsing) and flags `javascript:` protocols. It does NOT fetch URLs to check HTTP status codes — that would require the broad `` host permission we deliberately don't request. For 404 checking, use a dedicated broken-link crawler.
Why doesn't it have a background process?
Royal Links Audit uses a Manifest V3 service worker that only runs when you click the toolbar icon. No polling, no page monitoring, no performance impact when you're not actively auditing. Most competitors ship with background scripts that run on every tab you visit.
